Hi,

I have following setup with by BizTalk 2004:
Two Biztalk Servers, one running on server 1 and another on server 2. Both
use same SQL servers which is on server 3.
Now my BizTalk server nbr2 went down and it was necessary to re-install
everything that was installed to it, including my BizTalk.

Biztalk Installs fine but when i'm trying to configure it, I have met a
problem:
The configuration wizard raises error that says: "Another server with sane
name already exists"??

Is this because my old Biztalk configuration still exists on SQL
database? If so how could I delete it from there? I didn't found any
markins of my server from there? If anyone knows how to do that please let
me know..

Thanks in advance,
Woltor

I tried that but it wont work becauce I havent configured this BizTalk
installation yet, and if I try to configure it, it just says that error
message(Another server with the same name already exists). The information
SQL-server has, is from previous installation from the same machine. That
was left there when the BizTalkserver machine went down.

I guess I have to somehow manually remove this server from the BizTalk
server group? But how I do that?
Where is the information which servers belong to the group? Is it
somewhere in BizTalk Sql database?
if so could it be possible to just delete that row from there?

Thanks,
-Woltor

Try adding the followingkey to the registry.
This will help [Configframework.exe /u] connect to the Management Databa
se
to unconfigure the machine.
Effectively quitting the BizTalk Group.
Tiy should then be able to configure the machine again.

WARNING: Insert your SQL Server Machine Name below.

& #91;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsof
t\BizTalk Server\3.0\Administration
]
"SQLScriptPath"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\\Schema\\"
"MgmtDBServer"="SQLSERVERMACHINENAME"
"MgmtDBName"="BizTalkMgmtDb"
"BizTalkGroupName"="BizTalk Group"
"BizTalkAdminNTGroup"="BizTalk Server Administrators"

Thanks,
MRoze

Thanks for the reply!

We already tested our backup system and with "a little" effort we managed
to get the old system up and running.
So I could execute configframework.exe /u command. And It worked, so new
installation was again possible.
But if our machine crashes again I will try that reg.editing. Getting the
old system up again wasn't as easy as it sounded...

Thanks!
