Is there any way to use the hit counter included with the
server extensions without having to use an image to
display the number of hits? All I want is the count
displayed as regular text...

...let me add to that.  You can create a custom hit counter, and create you
r
own .gif in your image editor/program, which can look anyway you want
textwise.

Check the FP help files for details.
