Can anyone help me here?

We have 2 Win2000 servers load balanced with WLBS.  The web is kept in
sync with a copy utility from a staging server.  Only one folder is
accessed on the searchs in question and they contain nothing but
.pdf's.  IFilter has been installed and none of the "Known Issues" of
IFilter are in play.

We have verified that all of the pages that take part in the search
are the same (query.idq, noise.enu, query.htx etc) and the index was
deleted and rerun just yesterday.

However, each server returns different results for a given search!?
The first one or two results may be the same (not always) but from
that point on, they vary wildly.

Is it even possible to get 2 servers to return the same result set?
These servers are as similar as they can be without being the same
machine.

Thoughts?
