From what I understand, a _LiveData workbook should be created by bm.exe whe
n a tracking profile is deployed.

I have a .btt that bm.exe uses to successfully generate the BAM infrastructu
re in the database. I can see in SQL server that the milestone is tracked a
ppropriately.

Problem is...a _LiveData workbook is not created for me by bm.exe. Am I mis
sing something here? Can anyone help me out with any gotchas or additional
documentation on live data workbooks? I've been through a ton of online doc
s and the Information Worke
r Help Guide and don't see any specifics on LiveData.

Thanks in advance for your help!

-eric

Hi Eric,

Whether a tracking profile is deployed or not does not affect the functional
ity of bm.exe.
bm.exe does not consume a .btt file, rather it uses a bam definition xml or
xls. However, given that you said that you could
see that a milestone being tracked correctly, I assume that you actually bm
deploy using a xls/xml not btt file.
_Livedata workbook will be created if you define at least one pivot table in
your xls and you deploy that xls not the
exported xml.

Derek [MSFT]
