This an odd bit of work:

DI7 help instructed me to click "Backup Jobs" tab and ... none
was to be seen.

I called fee tech support 800 757 5049 and, on their dime, was
told to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 as well as DI7.
Apparently, PQ used this MS utility for their original code.
"John" told me DI was probably the only app I'll have that will
call it.

John also had me delete "Preferences.xml," a file under Docs and
Settings-Travis-Application
Data-IsolatedStorage-xxx-xxx(code#s)-Files-PowerQuest Drive
Image-Preferences.xml

On re-installing DI7, the missing Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1
was noted, and the installer offered the older version 1.0375,
present on the DI7 disk. It then re-installed DI7, I applied the
7.03 patch. Display now OK. No huge portion of the screen
continuing blue and white stripes all the way from menu items on
the left right across. I had thought it was merely bad design
until prompted for the "Backup Jobs" tab!

Anyway, one for the collector's edition of weird stuff that can
go wrong. DI7.03, at least on my new-as-of-April, 2004 Dell 4600,
WinXP-Home, may not display its entire "Advance" screen, thanks
to not being up to speed with Framework 1.1.

Best wishes,

Travis
