You do not state which versions of IIS and Operating
system. If you are using NT4.0 and IIS 2.0, we had the
same problem, every so often it would just go to sleep.
Stopping and starting Content Index services restarted it.
We moved to Server 2003 and IIS 6.0 and problem went away.
