Hi

When i use any kind of domain with any program, mozilla, ssh, whatever, I
presume there is a cache that the system uses, which it fills whenever a
name query is made. How do I get to this cache and configure it to be
whatever size I want, and, say, automatically cache all subdomains of a
particular domain if I want to? (eg. ftp-ing to unc.edu would
automatically get the IP for sunsite.unc.edu into the cache, ready to be
used).

Thanks

Schewdent.

Guess, your system has all info:

man -k nscd
/etc/nscd.conf [nscd] (5) - name service cache daemon configuration fil
e
/usr/sbin/nscd [nscd] (8) - name service cache daemon

Don't forget to restart nscd after changing the config.
