I have Frontpage 2003 and winXP

until resently I have not had any problems creating a web
on my local PC before I publish it to my host.

When I try to browse/edit in FP2003 my site from within
the IIS manager it tells me to install the Frontpage
Client. I have done so, now several times. I have tried it
with and without SP1 for Office 2003 and nothing works.
I will now attempt to do so with a clean Windows XP (no
updates) and see what happens.

Has this happend to anyone else, if so any solutions??

thanks

Don't try to browse/edit from within the IIS MMC. The basic problem is FP
2003 is too new. I believe that the edit contect menu item in the IIS MMC is
tied to a specific class ID or version number for an older version of
Frontpage. You should still be able to create a web though with FP using the
File | New function. Also, you should be able to do it just through the
Tasks | New Web. Once created, you don't have to use the IIS MMC to launch
FP to edit. Just open the new web in FP using the File | Open Web.

Hope this helps,
