I am currently running Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition. I have setup 5 websi
tes using IIS 6.0. Everything is working fine. I can access the websites fro
m inside and outside of the network. I am now trying to setup FTP so users c
an upload files to their websites that are being stored on the server.

I can access the folders internally. When I FTP and the internal IP address - I get a l
ogon screen and can see the files and directories. However, when I attempt to access th
e FTP sites outside the network (From home) not much happens. When I type in the F
TP://68.248..., I get the logon screen, but all I see is the website name an
d what I believe is the root folder. I don't see any of the files or directo
ries I should see.

What am I doing wrong. Can someone help me out. I Don't have Active Director
y or Domain controller setup. I am using the DNS server that I registered my
domains with - forward the traffic over to me.

The router I am using is Cayman Neotopia - I believe its the 3546. I have po
rt 21 pointing to the internal address of the server. Do I need to turn on
port 20 or other ports that I am unaware of? Do I need to do something speci
al in the folders themselves - setting permissions, etc. How is it possible
I can access the files internally and not externally?

Did I miss something during the setup process.

You response would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks

Lisa

You need a Virtual Folder in the FTP root that points to the physical
location of the client web site root. You need to connect and CD to
the virtual folder to see the files in the web site.
