It would be nice if you summarize the contents next time.

Its very nice if you are still dependent on Windosh and want
to lower your TCO with freed up software.
Its a good place to get hold of an OpenOffice install.
The Mozilla works without all the problems of IE crap.
It does tabbed browsing something IE can't do.
Filezilla downloader is very good for FTP without
a lot of spyware bolted on top. So is WinHTTrack for downloading entire
websites onto hard disk. 7-zip really good for much better compression
than WinRAR or pkzip. Celestia is a good for star gazing.
TightVNC is replacement for pcAnywhere.
Haven't tried the rest.

It looks like a boon to the harassed and harried Windoze sysadmin trying to
wrestle the greased pig of a Windows server.

It is also a replacement for that piece of crap, Remote Desktop.
And it won't force off the user that is already logged on.

Here's another one:

GNUWin II is a free software compilation for Windows. You will find
three main features on it :
* Software
GNUWin II includes numerous programs, completely free, which
cover a wide spectrum of uses. The complete application list,
sorted by type, is available here.
The software included in GNUWin is not shareware nor freeware,
but original free software and Open Source software, for which
the source code is available, and that is and will always be free
(free both as in "free speech", and as in "free beer").
Most programs included in this CD are also available for free and
Open Source operating systems, such as GNU/Linux, BSD, etc.
* Articles
You will also find numerous articles that explain the free
software and Open Source spirit.
* On-line help and explanations for GNUWin
To help you discover the fascinating world of free software and
Open Source, we ourselves wrote a few texts, notably a F.A.Q.
(Frequently Asked Questions) that should answer the first
questions of most new users. If a particular term sounds
unfamiliar to you, the glossary might be a great help.
Furthermore, technical words found within the texts are links
that lead to the respective glossary entry; you can thus simply
click on a particular word if you want an explanation of its
meaning.
I didn't think too many people here were interested in this stuff.
Linux users don't need it (except for helping people break free from
The Addiction, which means I failed to realize linux users might be
interested). And the crop of Windummies that hang out here are more
inclined toward either stealing what they use, or toward not thinking
it's worthwhile unless the price starts at $150 per program.
I've known of both for some time, and I burned quite a few and handed
them out. I even placed a box in our break room, put a few dozen in
there and put a sign on it saying they were free. They didn't stay
long, having 10-30 people sitting in there while they wait for
something to be fixed every day of the week.
I should fill the box up again fairly soon.

So, it's a distro without Linux on it?
That's like a steak dinner without the steak.
Enjoy your rolls and salad, pikers....

It has nothing to with a distro - its a CD packed with
installable open software packages.
