A month ago I lost my hard drive and had to re-build my PC (XP2000/Pentium
IV). Since then I have trouble with my backup software.

I used to use Veritas Personal Backup, now switched to Stomp (which seems
to me to be an evolution of the Veritas software).
With both, Veritas and Stomp I'm having the following behavior:

1. Backup with verify works. No errors. I see the backup progression, and
the verify progression.
2. Trying to compare and clicking on the "device view" button results in a
message that this backup set is no longer available on the media, even
though I just succcessfuly backed up and verified!

I have tried security erase, Veritas' and Stomp's device configuration
applet (both find no problems, everything passes), retensioning - still the
same problem.

It seems so weird that verify after backup works, and a compare or restore
wouldn't even find the backup set.

Does anybody know the secret?
