hi forum,
maybe someone can help me with the following "problem". the scenario is, tha
t i'd like to implement a groupware system for my company (mid sized with br
anches accross the globe). right now there is one centralized mailserver (se
ndmail). to receive e-mails, the branch offices log on to the server and rec
eive their mail. now, i'd like to implement a new mail server AND a director
y server which is based on the LDAP protocoll. are there any suggestions how
the current architecture setup can be improved? what about having a seperat
e mail and ldap server which synchronize withing constant time intervals or
does the current setup make more sense. i'd like to mention that the branch
offices are small ( 5 people at a max ). what about the LDAP directory. i th
ink its the best solution would be a server in each office to avoid centrali
zed storage ( in case the server is down and noone can access the stored con
tact details )...i hope you could follow my problem, feel free to write an e
mail if there is any suggestion..
thx very much
