You guys are going to feel like punching me in the face, and trust me i'd do
the same if it were feasble, but I had to emergency style move about 70
websites (somewith frontpage 2002 extensions) off of an old windows 2000
advanced server box onto a new Windows 2003 Web edition box.

Here's the problem.

I open frontpage.. open web type in username password, keeps asking over and
over for username password. I noticed if i use the administrator
username/password on the box it works fine so I assume that means the
extensions are working ok, i also noticed that I can FTP into the box using
the user account i created for the virtual host in IIS just fine so i assume
the "windows account" i created works ok.. So i guess i'm kind of just
sittin here scratching my head (been here at work goin on 27 hours now).

User account is the administrator on the frontpage web
User account has full permissions on the directory in which the frontpage
web resides.

Can anyone shed a little light for me?

We werent planning on moving all of these sites over at 2am but we had to
due to the registry going bye-bye on this other machine.

any assistance you can render is appreciated.

Try making sure that the user has the Login Locally and Network Login or
Interactive login settings. Most user accounts, by default, don't have the
ability to log onto a server by default. This is a security measure to make
sure that users just can't walk up to a box and log in, only the admin has
the rights by default.

Hope this helps,
