I am using a Webbot substitution command to insert a
different title as the header of my page. The idea is to
use the [Description] substitution (which gets its value
from the Comments section of the Summary tab of the
properties of the page) and print it out on the page.
When I publish the page the comments section of the page
is empty. Why is that??? If I then edit the properties
of the the published page and enter the text in the
comments section the substitution works.

Anyone ever come across this problem .......

Beuller.....

Anyone????

The webbot components are only designed to work with content that is between
 the <body>....</body>
tags of a page, not the head section of a page.

Thomas:
Thanks for the reply, however, perhaps I was not clear
enough with my problem, (which I am sure is the case).

I can get this to work but I need to edit the page on the
Web server to get it to work.

When in Frontpage if you bring up the properties of a page
you can enter test into the comments field of the Summary
tab. For whatever reason these comments are not being
published with the page. Intersetingly enough the Title
of the page on the General tab are being published. Give
this a try and you will see what I am trying to convey.

Thanks again.

The Page Title is stored in the page itself, in the <head> section between
<title>...</title> tags.

The page Summary is stored in the _vti_cnf file related to the page. _vti*
folders and files contain information that pertains to the site containing
those files, and are *never* published between sites.
