Example, in hpux, uname -a just give the below

HP-UX hostname B.11.00 U 9000/800 identification-number unlimited-user licen
se

so basically, how do we know whether it is a rp8400, rp3410 and etc?

There are several ways.  One is running prtconf into a file and looking
near the top.

no prtconf at all, though model works.

have to ftp prtconf into the server?
