There is a dependence of CMS on SQLServer being
available. We have a 15 minute failover, which does not
meet a SLA for a website we are looking at converting to
CMS.

How have others in the CMS Community gotten around this
issue?

We are looking at static rendering through spidering
technology.

Any other options?

Thanks,

kurt...

Hi Kurt,

if there is only static content you could use this tool to get a static
snapshot:

Cheers,
Stefan.

Stefan,

We are looking at that tool. Our infrastructure team
could not get it to work on out CMS site. The new CMS
Lead Developer and I are going to try to get this to
create a static version of our site.

BTW: If SQLServer is down, is there a way to have
previously cached your site so that it is avaialble? Or
is the access of the channel structure going to keep the
site blacked out...

kurt...

Hi Kurt,

usually this happens automatically - if the node cache is big enough.
Everything in the node cache will work.
Only pages that have not been requested before will cause problems.

Cheers,
Stefan.
