All,

We are currently trying to offer a hosted solution using Websphere portal
and Domino, do you know if this is possible? Can you have multiple
instances of WPS on the same machine, i know virtual portals are coming in
the next release, but can you actually have multiple seperate installs of
portal on the same physical machine rather than virtual portals?

Hi Ryan,

We are running on the same machine WPS 5.02.1 (which I would recommend
to everybody) and domino 6.5.1. Also it is possible to run several
intstances of WPS but I would not recommend this (maybe for development
reasons).

kind regards
Can

Ok, well i don't actually need to run Domino and portal on the same machine,
what i wanted to do was run a different instance of WPS for every
organisation we have hosted.....each instance would connect to the same
domino server which would be set up in XSP mode. Anyone know if this is
possible, if not any other way to offer portal in a hosted mode along with
domino.

You can run paralell WPS instances until you run out of assigable ports,
memory and/or any other resource. See the InfoCenter for details on how to
setup the instances.

I'd assume you'd have to use the Network Deployment version of WAS to
manage these instances?

Network Deployment is not necessary for multiple instances on the same host,
you only need ND if you want to build a cluster.
