Hi

i have create a channel named : staging.mycompany.com
and I try to create a cms web application with an url :
http://localhost/staging.mycompany.com

=> I got an error message Http 403 : Acces forbidden

if I create a channel named : staging.mycompany.fr
and a cms web application with : http://localhost/staging.mycompany.fr

=> it's work !!!!

In fact, each time I create a web application with a '.com' in last word, I
have got this problem !

My problem is that i need a .com channel,
or does anyone know how to create a website with a name different
from the rootchannel.

thanks

Hi,

this is a security feature of IIS.
All executable extensions are handled this way: .EXE, .COM, .BAT, .CMD.

Follow up on an IIS related newsgroup for details.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Turn on Host Header Mapping, and edit your HOSTS file so that
staging.mycompany.com maps to 127.0.0.1.

http://staging.mycompany.com/ should then point to your local channel of
that name.

Hope this helps.
