we are running Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, FrontPage Server Extensions
2002 v5.0.2.5012. Out of the blue (while I was on vacation and
everyone swears no changes were made) all forms on the website have
stopped working. When the submit button is clicked the following
message appears

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more
details.

There are no messages in the Application Event Log about FrontPage or
IIS.

So far I have:
-Done a full uninstall of the FrontPage Extensions from the website.
-Uninstalled FrontPage Extensions from the server.
-Downloaded and installed the current FrontPage 2002 extensions from
Microsoft.com
-Extended FPSE on the website.
-Configure the mail and users

I still get the same error.

The forms are supposed to append to a file in _private, send an email
and return a confimation page.

The only thing that is working is that the _private files are being
updated.

I get the same problem except I get the error 160009 in the event log with
event id 1000.

I am running 2k server with FP xtentions 2002. My server crashed and I
restoed everything from backup. I am having this problem ever since. The mai
l
server works as it is with script.

The form gives the same error and gets updated in the file.

Hope someone answers this....

Thanks,
Lee.

Hi

It is not recommended to download and install FPSE 2002 on a windows 2003
server. Please install fpse 2002 from the Add/Remove windows components.
Then test the form.

In the 2000 server, please try running the Check server health with all
repair option enabled. If you had applied any permissions to the web site
content through NT ACLS, those will be removed. Also ensure that you have
a backup of the entire web site.

Hope this helps

regards
