Jawahar,
I presume that was a brand-new installation, not an upgrade. If you could
send your config logs I will try to understand the cause.

Hi,
I was trying to install BTS 2004 on win 2003. Installation went very
well. i was installing it with local administrator previlages. After
the installation, i launched the "configframework.exe".
I have given proper credentials to the service account page(For all 10
services), ie, local "administrator" and "password". It started
configuring the biztalk and failed with the error
"Rules Engine Update Service failed to start.See event viewer for more
details."
When i cancelled, it rolled back everything. In the event viewer, It
has the logged the following exception.
"System.Net.Sockets.Socketexception. The given name was valid.but no
valid data was found."
Then i ran "configframework.exe" with uninstall(/u) switch. Deleted
all the daatabases from SQL Server(SP3a) and analysis server(SP3a).
Ran the "configframework.exe" again. it did not help.
In the biztalk log file, i can see some cpp file with line no and lot
of lines with "waiting for the thread to complete".
I have no clue on what could have gone wrong?
Any ideas. Thanks in advance.
Regards
--Jawahar
