If any one can help me it would be appreciated. I have 2 systems that
don't like fedora 2.
The first is a P-3 733 intel processor with 512 ram, titan mother
board, and an nvidia gforce4 card. RedHat 7.3 didn't like this one
either. The drivers from nvidia to care of that. Fedora Core 1 installed
with out a glitch. This pleased me that linux had gotten around their
non Open Source software. When I try to install Fedora 2 all I get is
lines. Any idea's?
The second is a SIS 620 mother board, P-2 intel 400 processor, 300+ ram
( it has shared video). This system runs only in KDE and only as root.
If I try GNOME or any other user the system hangs. It worked fine with
Fedora 1. If it is any help it, the system finds this as a SIS 530 video
card. Putting Fedora 1 back on the system works fine. I'm lost now.

I've used these same disks on other systems to install Fedora 2 and
haven't had a problem. When disk check is used these disks, they come
back as good.
I'm open to any and all help.

Jesse

Hi Jesse,

It seems that you have a lot of experience with Fedora. I need some
help as I am totally a newbie. I am not familiar with the command
line. I want the KDE X Windows but I don't know how to get it
installed or the command to innitialize it. Can you help me on this?

Thanks so much,
Tim

Sorry to butt in. What have you done already? What is your system?

When you install FC2 it should install the default X Windows system which
is a combination Gnome-KDE, and KDE and Gnome if you have enough HD free
space.

When the system boots to the log in screen the is an option to
select either the default, Gnome or KDE sessions. Select the KDE and you
should be happy if your install was correct and you have the minimum
requirements for an X Windows system.
