I am using Win2003 + IIS, it cannot access a registered component from my
bowser and prompts the following error:

Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005'

Server.CreateObject Access Error

/default.asp, line 10

The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions. Access is
denied to this object.

I have tried the solutions from article 198432, but it is still fail to
access the component, any other alternatives to solve this? Even I grant
"everyone" to the compoent and related folders, but it is fail too. Please
advise.

Thanks,

DS

Did you check 'reset permissions' while setting 'everyone' permissions ?

Lookup your object in the Registry and add 'read everyone' to the node(s) ..
. ?

198432 only mentions one of the possible causes of 0x80070005 (which is
access denied -- a VERY generic reason that have a million ways of
occurring).

What object (please give the ProgID) is being created in /default.asp line
10 , what is the ACLs on its backing DLL, and what authentication protocol
is configured and enforced on the request to the ASP page?

Also, 198432 doesn't apply to IIS6 by default (OOP activation is not
relevant on IIS6 by default). It's not listed in the "Applies to" section,
either.
