Hi

We have been presented with a scenario that could be a potential barrier for
a client implementing MCMS. The problem is that the clients network
absolutely prohibits them from downloading ActiveX controls, due to company
policy this restriction will not be relaxed. Obviously the consequence of
this is that they would be unable to edit content via the 'Authoring
Console'.

I have several questions.

1) The first time a user tries to use the authoring console am I correct in
assuming that the ActiveX control is downloaded from the main MCMS server.

2) If question 1 is correct would it be possible to copy the OCX file for
the authoring console onto a client machine and register it locally.

3) Does anyone know in which file the authoring console is contained.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph,

Is the issue the downloading of ActiveX controls or the use of activeX
controls?

You can also check out using Telerik's r.a.d.Editor for MCMS - It uses DHTML
and its free if you are licensed for MCMS. - www.telerik.com
