Hi

(1) Check tht there is a virtual folder called CMS (linked
to the IIS_CMS folder in your MCMS install directory) in
your application's virtual directory for both Project1 and
2.

(2) Template Explorer is accessible from View > Other
Windows.

(3) Check that the project is MCMS-enabled. Select Project
> Enable as MCMS Project.

Btw: it is not possible to create more than one web site on Windows XP.
Hacking the metabase to achieve this would be a licensing violation.

Hi Alex,

the CMS virtual directory needs to be inside the solution folder.
It needs to point to the following physical location:

\program files\microsoft content management server\server\IIS_CMS

Please do not copy the content but create a virtual directory pointing to
this location.
Also ensure that the virtual directory does not become a web application -
means you need to remove the web application setting after you created the
virtual directory.

Hi Alex,

actually this does not really matter.
The recommended development platform for MCMS is Windows XP.
Production servers usually are Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 machines.
The applications are compatible as long as you ensure that the .NET
framework version is the same.

I created web sites on Win XP in the development environment. They work both
well for training purposes.
After I found differences when moving to Win 2003 I think it's better to
develop MCMS projects under Win 2003 if your target environment will be unde
r
Win 2003.
Am I right?

Ok Mei,
I created virtual folders for each project with the links to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\IIS_CMS
Now both projects could be authored.
