Hi, I installed on Debian Woody the most recent kernel-image available
from backports (2.4.26). It comes with ACL support enabled; I did some
short tests on an ext3 partition and it seems to work fine, but...
according to the docs I've read, when extended ACLs are added to a file, a
"+" should appear at the right of traditional file attributes when doing a
normal "ls -l", like this:

$ ls -l dir/file
-rw-r-----+ ... agruen suse ... dir/file

The plus sign does not appear here, although getfacl shows that the ACL
has been modified for that file.

Does anyone have any hint about this?
Thanks.

Not really, but is your version of the coreutils (ls) package recent
enough to support this?

Uh-oh... "coreutils acl" in Google returns many new results to me... and
no, it appears Woody's utils do not support this, e.g.
http://homex.subnet.at/~max/fs/ext23_acl.php#fileutils

Thanks.
