Hi Vinayak Tadas,
Here are my views:
1. This feature is very important and I think everybody uses it. I
have developed 4 large sites using commerce server and I have always
used a custom field for sequencing products and categories.
2. Always used sequencing.
3. I don't think that this is related to any business processes. Its
generally a look n feel issue.
