public_html is used by mod_userdir to automatically provide web space like
www.example.com/~username so I'd use a different name (just for simplicity,
to avoid confusion), such as htdocs or www. Other than that, I believe that
basic web hosting is as simple as that.
Of course, you probably need to create FTP accounts. And if you want to
offer scripting languages there're a lot of security considerations.
