Table Locks - Please help.

Hello,

Our CMS site has been up and running smooth for almost a year; however, in
the last month or so, we have experienced table locks serveral times a week.
Sometimes the pages won't load, or if I try to log in as a content editor,
and edit a page--I try to login via a login form, type in my username
password, and then click submit, and the browser just sits there for a while
and then I get a timeout error.

Whenever I go to the DBA, he shows me that there are table locks, we kill
them, and then everything is fine for a few more days.

We are setup such that we do content updates and the website reads
production data from the SAME database. We don't have a seperate authoring
databse, and then push the content to a production database... we use one
database for this, and it has worked fine for all these months. We also
consulted with Microsoft prior to implementation of this topology, and then
said it should not be a problem.... anyway, now we have this locking problem
.

Any ideas, suggestion? The DBA told me to set the isololation level to
ReadUncommitted ...but I am not sure how I would to that...

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

you should open a support case for this.

Cheers,
Stefan.

In addition could you post the offending locks from SQL Profiler to the
newsgroup (for future reference).
