After i setup FTP in IIS 4, when trying to login, it gave me error
like " please make sure the folder name is valid and have permission
to access". Anyone pls advise. Thanks

Have you login and access via command prompt ftp.exe ?

what does the ftp log say? status code ?
default log path %windir%/system32/logfiles/msftpsvcX/
X - site id.

is this anonymous access or basich authentication ?

Bernard, i tried using the command prompt , it say time out. It is anonymous
 login.

Any firewall / NAT in between ?
have you try the same test at the server itself ?

can you post the msgs using ftp.exe and ftp server log ?

Bernard, i can't find any ftp log. There is a router in between but i
have enable port forwarding on ftp port. In server, if i type
"ftp://ip address" then it is ok. But not with my domain name or
outside my network.

default ftp log path is %windir%/system32/logfiles/msftpsvcX/
X is the site id

if you can access via ip but not with any FQDN name, this is name resolution
problems.
check your dns record and etc.

Just typical A record will do. the exact steps depend on what kind of DNS
server you using. anyway that's beyond the discussion of this group.

if you using ftp.exe, you still need to enter
username as 'anonymous' and password as 'email@email.com'
this is because ftp.exe don't auto connect as anonymous.

IE and other typical ftp client will auto login as anonymous users.
