I would like to restore an image on a new harddrive. This image contains
three partitions. Do I have to creae the partitions on the new harddrive
first or will that be done by the imaging software (True Image)?

It will be done by the imaging software (I'm not sure if a destination
partition is required with True Image (it is with Norton Ghost 2003)). I
believe also unallocated space may serve as image target when doing a
restore...

I've never restored more than one partition at a time using True Image,
however, from the manual:

"During a single session, you can restore several partitions or disks,
one by one, by selecting one disk and setting its parameters first and
then repeating these actions for every partition or disk to be
restored."

If you're simply replacing an old hard drive you may find the Disk Clone
feature in True Image useful.

I'm using version 8 of True Image, but I think everything I've mentioned
applies to version 7 too.
