Good folks,

After upgrading RH through the years, from 0.0? to RH9, with few problems, I
did a new install of FC2.
It took weeks to get everything configured properly. ( A server installation
with web, email, samba, etc.)
FC3 will be available soon, so is there an upgrade path for the Fedora
Cores?
I don't have a good way to save files for a new install, except floppies,
and tons of stuff has been added and modified.

Well, I hate to deflate your efforts, but I did a straight "upgrade" of
a mission-critical server from RH9 to FC2 on 28th Sept in less than half
an hour and everything worked just fine and dandy as before.
It then took over 2 hours to bring it up to date (the downloaded iso's
had all files dated 13/05/04), even on a 2Mb/s broadband link!
Up2date is working perfectly, though much busier than RH9, of course,
with rarely a night without a patch.
So I'm sure FC2 will upgrade to FC3 keeping all configurations but make
sure your FC2 is up to date and your FC3 is fresh!

I've upgraded a few RH8 and RH9 servers directly to FC2 also.

The only "problem" I ran into was having to turn dovecot on.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I'll give it a try.
My only concern is how well php interfaces with Apache 2.0.
I may have to fiddle with a few options and re-compile, but you have to do
what you have to do.

I did an upgrade from FC1 to FC2.  Almost everything worked correctly but
I had to manually change a few conf files.  For example, for the yum.conf
there was a yum.conf.rpmnew to copy over the yum.conf.  The FC2 release
notes and a FC1-FC2 tip list I found resolved all differences.

I've been using Apache 2.0 with php since 2.0 came out without any
trouble.

The warning in the docs was only there because they haden't been tested
together at the time the docs were written.
