I have recently installed a spam filter server. Wanting to test it's
effectiveness without adding my other domains just yet. I am guessing
that simply posting on a newsgroup is a good start to getting on a few
lists. Can anyone suggest a good place to go in order to test a filter
such as this?

Also, I am now using Google groups to read/post. I could not find a
link to a FAQ for this group. If one exists, and I posted a question
from that FAQ, please forgive me, as I DID look. :-) Either way, a
link to one would be appreciated.

I've never intentionally tried getting my addresses added to spam lists,
so I can't help you there... ;)

Simply unsubscribe to everything you get and you'll Email address will get
harvested and sold on like there's no tomorrow. If however they unsibscribe
you then they may be doing their job - but many will still sell your address
on regardless.

I "unsibscribed" and managed to attract over 30/day on one address within
2-3 weeks - and still rising! However, only unsubscribe by stripping off
any ID's in the web URL, otherwise it will only confirm that your "real"
personal address (that received the massage in the first place) was of the
recipient that visited the site.

For example...

If the "Unsubscribe" links to: http://www.sexy_toyz_r_us.biz/toyz/mb1299

then go to just http://www.sexy_toyz_r_us.biz and you'll probably get the
same "Unsubscribe" page anyway. The enter your spoof address and watch the
garbage start creeping in.
