Stefan:

When I log on to my CMS Read/Only and/or Read/Write Site, my home page
appears but the image links are broken and don't appear.

Actually, I get the windows dialogue three times and does not accept my
credentials. There are five image links on the page so I'm not sure why I
did not get 5 windows dialogue. But nevertheless, can you advise on what to
check to do to get images to appear?

I do have the necessary rights in Site Manager.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

Can you check your IIS logs for 401 or 404 errors.

Also have you allowed anonymous access to the NR directory?

Regards

Angus:

Why Is it necessary to turn Anonymous access on for the NR folder?

Can't Basic or integrated work for the ReadOnly site?

What about the Read/write? Why does Anonymous access have to be turned on
in IIS? Is this a CMS requirement?

Thanks

Hi Tom,

we'll bypass that issue right now.

How did you go with the IIS logs? - so we can what response codes were
generated by the /NR/etc directory.

Hi Tom,

for a site where SiteManager does not need to access anonymous rights is not
allowed on /NR directory.
Anonymous access is only required by SiteManager.

But be aware that you still need to allow all users accessing any item in
the repository to access the /NR directory as the disk cache is located
inside this directory.
Insufficient priviledges will cause 404 and 401 errors.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Stefan:

Aren't the rights in CMS grandfathered?

In other words if I am a memebr of the Editors, doesn't this mean I'm
automatically a memebr of Authors and subscribers?

Hi Tom,

Editor rights include author and subscriber rights.
Moderator rights also include author and subscriber rights.

Cheers,
Stefan.
