Hi all,

I have a problem with my ADSL internet connection on Sarge. Every 60
seconds, dhclient reconnects, and access to network is lost.
Here is the message in /var/log/messages:
localhost dhclient: bound to xx.xx.xx.xx -- renewal in 60 seconds.
What could be done to prevent this?
TIA,

Patrick

That sounds as if you will want to reconfigure dhclient. Start with, as
root, man dhclient.

Could you post a suitably obfuscated /etc/dhclient.conf ?

Yes, I have only the following line:

send dhcp-lease-time 86400;

But I always get the same message: renewal in 60 seconds, and the
connection stops for about 10 seconds every minute.
Any help will be appreciated.

Patrick

Please take a look at my webpage and see if it helps (it contains a far more
complete /etc/dhclient.conf).
