Hi
I found a strange behaviour. When i log on to MCMS with a user which
only has (and i mean only) author rights the folowing occurs:
1. When the user makes a new page the page correctly receives the
status of "Waiting for moderator approval" when he submits it.
2. When the user edits an existing page, the page gets published when
he submits it??? This shouldn't be the case!!!

There are moderators (other users of course) assigned to the channel
which holds the posting.

Please help!!!!

Hi nfeemo, I have seen similar behaviour. First time around, moderator gets
to approve a posting, later on, only changes with posting properties go to
editor for acceptance, in my experience. You may want to try using author
instead of moderator.

Sorry, there were errors in my previous reply. I meant to say:
"later on, only changes with posting properties go to moderator for
acceptance"
"You may want to try using editor"

Hi,

you are mixing up Editors and Moderators.

Hi Stefan
I read your article on the difference between editor and moderator.
Does this mean that there has to be an editor for the channel if the
author shouldn't be allowed to publish changes in content?
And secondly if this is the case and i want to use only moderators,
couldn't I adjust the posting creation date by a milisecond on each
submit? Not a pretty solution but it would work wouldn't it?

Yes you would need an editor.
Your workaround would work.
But be aware that items waiting for moderator approvals do not have a live
version.

Cheers,
Stefan.
