I know there are HTTP and HTTP_S advisors.

And that there is a WAS advisor, but noWAS_S advisor.

Will the WAS advisor be able to advise on a WAS server that only listens on
port 443 which is SSL?

Thanks.......Paul

Paul...the current advisor would not. Somebody would have to write a
custom advisor that does the SSL handshake, body decryption, etc, in
order for the WAS advisor to work over SSL.

Thanks Jeff,

Many customers are running thier WAS servers in SSL mode or are in the
process of doing so. There will be an ever incereasing need for a WAS_S
advisor, just as there was a need for a HTTPS advisor in the past. With that
in mind, does the LB group have any plans to provide a WAS_S advisor in the
future? If not where should I direct my suggestion for LB to provide one. It
seems wasteful for everyone to re-create the wheel by having everyone code
thier own WAS_S advisor. LB development has already made a HTTPS advisor, it
seems it would be easy for LB dev to create a WAS_S advisor. IMHO...

Thanks........Paul

Paul,

Anybody, internal IBM or external customers, can submit a FITSMO (DCR)
request to the Brand Management team for new functionality. I'll send
you a note on that process. Also, I'll send a note to the development
manager, but it's good to follow the FITSMO process as well because
development isn't always allowed to do the things we want
