I am trying to install Biztalk 2002 ( fresh ) on a Windows 2003 server, I
have installed VS.net 2003, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise with sp3 and also
installed Biztalk 2002 SP1.

After installation i am able to access Biztalk adminitsration and also start
and stop the service, but when i try to use Biztalk Messaging Manager to
creat anything , i always get the error message below :

"The response document is not a valid document.
This could be due to an incorrect BizTalk Server path, a failure in server
authentication. If you want to change the BizTalk Server path, on the Tools
menu, click Options, and then specify a new BizTalk Server path."

I've read the article :
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;317990
but it seems no help to me.i don't know why .
is it quite different between configuring biztalk 2002 in windows2000server
and windows 2003server?

Please help !

Elle,

The BizTalk Messaging Manager uses a virtual directory on IIS to get its
list of ports/channels etc. This virtual directory is called
"MessagingManager".

Check that this virtual directory exists and that you have permissions
to access it.

Thank you very much , Andrew (if I can call you this way ).

I've solved the problem in this way:In IIS Manager, configure all the web
extension services available.Though I've troubleshooted the error before I
noticed the article you posted , I still want to share it, for i think the
problem might be quite easy itself but puzzling for freshperson like me .

For I use BTS to develop only based on my computer, one of my colleague told
me i should also configure the application pool identifier from web service
to local system. what dose this configuration contribute? May you or anyone
else told me why? Thank you .

Thank you for your help, Andrew. I'll check it now.

Best regards .
