I am trying to create and assign a certificate for use with port 8080 instea
d
of 80. When I create the certificate it works great with port 80. but if I
change the assigned TCP port to 8080 I get the page cannot be displayed.
other functions of the website work that I have set to not require 128
encryption, is there a way to create it to work with the non standard port..
thanks

Are you using port 8080 when you actually create the cert? I doesn't
sound like you are if it works on 80. You need to define the port the
cert is working on when you create it. How are you doing the cert?

Are you setting BOTH the TCP port and the SSL port? Just make up a TCP port
(e.g. 8081) and set the site to require 128-bit SSL. Make sure you restart
IIS after changing.

Have you also specified the IP address for the virtual server? Shouldn't
make a difference, but worth a try.

You don't have to specify a port number in the certificate.
