Wholehearted second.  I had nothing but trouble with DDS, worked sort
of okay at first but it just didn't hang in and quickly became
unreliable.  Now running used DLT (sort of like Foz recommends)(but
with a power on reset issue per a nearby article subject: "Re: blinky
TH3AA leds")

:  Go for a used SDLT unit instead.
