I found my wsad cannot report error line num in the jsp file when my jsp has
compilation problem.  I am using WSAD 5.1.2 and portlet toolkit  Do I need
to set something?

try enabling console logging of websphere portal:

1) go to the server perspective
2) double click on your test environment server
3) go to the 'portal' tab of the portal options
4) click 'enable console logging of websphere portal'.
while you're there you might as well enable 'base portlets for portal
administration and customization' - they're always handy.
