Hi

What type of cable do I need to connect 5 MSA30 to external SCSI channel
on ML380. It has embedded Ultra 320 Smart Array 6i Controller, and
with each of MSA30 I get 12 feet VHDCI to VHDCI cable. It's obvious that
I won't use 5 cables, and I don't know what type of cable I need.
How does this configuration works. Does server treats each MSA as one
device, or it sees all the disks that are in the MSA?

The MSA30 is just a plain disk shelf, and if you've got five of them you'll
need five of something to plug them into. There's no five-way cable, and you
can't daisy chain them.
I assume you mean a DL380 server, and it does indeed come with an integrated
smart array 6i, with one external channel. You'll need another four
channels, and I suggest you get a Smart Array 6404, which will provide the
remaining four channels. You will indeed use five cables.

The server, or rather array configuration utility, will see each individual
disk on each MSA30. It's up to you to arrange them in some clever raid
layout. I doubt you'd be able to create an array spanning over the SA6404
and the SA6i though.

HP DL380 documentation says:

"Storage Enclosures
Standard one (1) Modular Smart Array 30 SB enclosure complete with dual
power supply and
four (4) 300 GB 1" Ultra320 10K RPM drives (1.2 TB).
NOTE: Maximum storage is 54 TB with MSA 30 enclosures, 13 Enclosure
support with
embedded controller, internal drive capacity.
NOTE: External user storage is installed in the included Modular Smart
Array 30 SB storage."

I am not native English speaker but to me it means that I can somehow
connect 13 enclosures to that single external channel of embedded
controller.

It took awhile for me to find that excerpt from the documentation. It seems
you're looking at the DL380G4 Storage Server specs, and I did indeed find it
to say just as you quoted. I agree the documentation is probably a bit
misleading, but my own interpretation is that in a DL380 you can fit 3 PCI-X
boards, and if you take 3 Smart Array 6404 you'll get 3x4=12 external SCSI
channels. Add the one integrated Smart Array 6i and you can have up to 13
enclosures max.
However, you'll have to add on the Smart Array 6404 boards yourself, they're
not included. Assuming you've read the specs on
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/.../12099_div.HTML
you'll find the 6404 boards in section 4. The 6404 comes in two cache
configurations, 128MB and 256MB.

Add the cornstarch, cook a few minutes till thick,
then place the stuffing into a colander and cool;
2 hours
Wrap the rolls:
Place 3 tablespoons of stuffing in the wrap, roll tightly -
corner nearest you first, fold 2 side corners in,
wrap till remaining corner is left.
Brush with egg, seal, and allow to sit on the seal for
a few minutes.
Fry the rolls:
325° if using egg roll wraps, 350° for spring roll wraps.
Deep fry in peanut oil till crispy golden brown, drain on paper towels.



Lemon Neonate

Turkey serves just as well, and in fact even looks a bit like a
well-dressed baby. By the time you turn the child?s breast into
cutlets, it will be indistinguishable. The taste of young human,
although similar to turkey (and chicken) often can be wildly
different depending upon what he or she has consumed during its
10 to 14 months of life...

4 well chosen cutlets (from the breasts of 2 healthy neonates)
2 large lemons (fresh lemons always, if possible)
Olive oil
Green onions
Salt
pepper
cornstarch
neonate stock (chicken, or turkey stock is fine)
garlic
parsley
fresh cracked black pepper

Season and sauté the cutlets in olive oil till golden brown, remove.
Add the garlic and onions and cook down a bit.
Add some lemon juice and some zest, then de-glaze with stock.
Add a little cornstarch (dissolved in cold water) to the sauce.
You are just about there, Pour the sauce over the cutlets,
top with parsley, lemon slices and cracked pepper.
Serve with spinach salad, macaroni and cheese (homemade) and iced tea...

Remove as much meat as possible, cube, and brown in hot oil.
Add a little water, season, then add the carcass.
