'Just interjecting my two cents. I am not particularly sure of this,
but MS has been known to break standards in the past. It would make
sense for them to reel against the ICMP ping response... what useful
purpose does it prove to your average Microsoft Office monkey, anyway?
They need their pornographic spam popping up for them, but there's no
need for network diagnostics.
What I'm saying is, are you double sure that XP will even respond to pings?
