i want to set up a VoIP phone system, and the phone system company said
it would be better for me to have my own lan set up, because they
charge $100 per hour for labor.

It is just a two people office, we don't have a lan yet. We just use a
router to share internet access.

We want to set up a office in China, where I am from, as our back up
office. By using the VoIP, people in china can pick up the phone if we
are busy in Boston. Also, I want to be able to work at home to pick up
incoming call.

The phone system company said VoIP is the solution. And the router
should have the Qos function to set the voice packet as priority.

Please let me know what is the best way to do this, we want this system
for sure, but just worry about the cost. Any idea how much would this
cost, and how I can do it in the low cost way. Thanks in advance and
happy holidays.

Joe Peng
