Please post the original URL, if possible: o it's better to have the original URL instead of some arbitrary shorthand, because it has a higher recognition value o Most people reading news already have a client enabling them to directly go to an URL. Who still has to enter the URL manually? Agreed. But often the URLs only get long because of session ids that can just be removed. Heiner -- ___ _ / __| |_ _____ _____ _ _ Heiner STEVEN <heiner.steven@nexgo.de> \__ \ _/ -_) V / -_) ' \ Shell Script Programmers: visit |___/\__\___|\_/\___|_||_| http://www.shelldorado.com/

But it is not easy to see at a glance what can be removed, and what is necessary. I prefer to post both the full URL and a shorthand URL; the best of both worlds. -- Chris F.A.
