When/IF replying directly, remove "REMOVE" in my address.  I'm receiving too
many 144kb to 157kb Microsoft "messages".

I have been a windows user since '94 (Windows for Workgroups 3.11) now
having XP Professional [not the *miracle* Microsoft projected].

I do NOT use "networking" and would NOT run a "server".

I looked at both RedHat and Mandrake.  The download for Mandrake was totally
confusing: a multitude of segments, whereas RehdHat had three (3) ISO's.

Office 2000 Professional would be replaced by OpenOffice; OE 6 by PAN; IE 6
by Mozillia and ThumbsPlus (image editor) concerns me . . .  as I have not
located a Linux alternative.

Now that a revelation has been made (RedHat Gone?) in 'redhat.general', WHAT
LINUX OS would you reccomend for a . . new (personal use) linux user?
