"bigapple.dynalias.net" seems to work as a mail2news gateway,
but the syntax is <news.group.name>@bigapple.dynalias.net
where <news.group.name> is the name of one newsgroup.

But what if you wanted to post to more than one group at a time?
What would be the syntax to do that?

Sorry, multiple groups are not supported.

Asmodeus will do the job for you. Syntax is:

alias_xxx_newsgroup1..newsgroup2..newsgroup3@newsanon.yi.org.

You can specify up to 5 newsgroups.

For more info, see http://remop.150m.com/quickpost.html.

True, the Asmodeus service is not a mail2news server.

I didn't realize bigapple's was a mailnews server. Good for him
if it is. Does he have a regular name as well as the news.group
type service? I mean, can you send to
mail2news@bigapple.dynalias.net, or some name like that? Let us
know, and I'll add him to my usual gateways when I send
encrypted mail.

They should do what the Asmodeus service does, and run the
messages through spam filters, duplicate filters, and anti-flood
filters. They're not perfect, but you don't see excessive
amounts of any of those things coming through Asmodeus.

The Asmodeus admin can answer this, but the charge sounds like
nonsense to me; I have never thought the Asmodeus Quickpost
service was anything but a clever, useful way to send a message
to a newsgroup, or set of newsgroups, without giving away
personal information to readers of the group.

Why do you see deception and lying where none exists? Frankly, I
would be reluctant to have any dealings with you, because people
with your paranoia usually have the very traits of character
they fear exist in others.

No, just the news.group type.

No Crossposting? Sounds a bit extreme to me. At present, the
standard for remailers is 5, I think. If people think the number
should be lower, let's hear your views.

I don't have a strong opinion, except that no crossposting is
going too far.

You might try adding a Newsgroups: header to your post. There should be
no spaces between the group names, only commas.

2 at most. If it is only going to be 2, I'll copy and paste the message
twice. No big deal. I'll settle for 1 if I have to without a problem.

Can you think of posting a question to 5 newsgroups that all have some
commonality where the post would NOT be considered OT?

When I think of crossposting, I am reminded of that Min idiot that
crossposts to multiple unrelated groups.
