    Critical Distribution list problem

I have a ditribution list that needs to forward messages
to both internal users and contacts (used to be custom
recipients in 5.5). It works fine if there is only a
single contact in the membership list and works fine for
internal users if the entire memebership list is
entered. However, with a mix of internal users and
contact entries, the contact (remote SMTP addresses) do
not receive the emails.

I appreciate any thoughts others may have. I have been
struggling with this for two days now and the need is
critical.

In the event it is helpful, the membership consists of 8
internal users and 7 external (contact) email addresses.

Thanks very much

Can you send to the custom recipients in the DL individually? Also does the
mail send a non-delivery report (if so what is the text) or does it sit in a
queue? If it sits in a queue which queue and if you hit properties on that
queue what does the status section give as a reason the mail is sitting in
that queue?

Hi Darrin,

The individual contacts (custom recipients) receive mail
without issue. Further, if the only member of the DL is
one of the custom recipients, messages go through fine as
well. It is only when there is more than one recipient in
the DL that some custom recipients do not get the email.

I have circumvented the issue for the moment by setting
the internal DL to forward to a remote List Serve I run.
This remote server then distributes to all the required
recipients. Obviously this is less than efficient so any
further ideas would be very helpful.

I just noted that I accidentally posted this in an IIS
list instead of Exchange 2000 (doh!) if it would be better
to repost in a more appropriate group, I could do that.

Thanks for the help.
