I recently bought some second-hand 3com NICs to use in my debian
servers. Debian had no problem detecting the card, but almost all
cards give a lot of TX errors when copying from the local network. The
netwerk speed sometimes drops to under 10 kbyte/s. The strangest thing
is, when downloading from the internet, I get speeds up to 500 kbyte/s
and no TX errors occur.

My guess is that there is a problem with the 3c59x driver. I tried
setting numerous options, but none seemed to help. Is there any way I
can get an updated version of this module without having to compile it
myself?

For the record, the server runs debian sarge, kernel 2.2.27.

a kernel-image package(entire kernel) - otherwise no. (yes, it's
theoretically possible, but really? -no-).
