Hi,

We are CMS 2001 users.
Due to .NET functionality we are investigate the feature &
benefits of
CMS 2002.
One specific question raised.

We upload our CMS 2001 site each night to our webhoster.
Please could anyone tell us what is the procedure
of "publishing" or
like staging in CMS 2002 in our situation?
So, we would like to keep our webhoster.

tx in advance,

Monnie

Hi Monnie,

this depends on what you mean witzh "upload".

Do you mean upload using ROP files? MCMS 2002 has the same concept names
SiteDeployment.
The repository content is exported into an SDO package and then imported
into the pubilshing MCMS server machine.

Or are you talking about using SiteStager and generating static html pages?
This cannot be done with .NET based templates - but honestly: if you are
looking into the features of .NET and then doing a static html image of the
site would be a little bit strange anyway.

If you are still looking for a solution to stage a .NET MCMS site, checkout
the solution I have written:

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your quick reply.
Basically (for me)you are saying there has to be a
publishing server somewhere (maybe at the hostersite) to
put our data on.

If this is right please let me know.

Kind regards,

Monnie
