Using FrontPage 2003, I am trying to publish my website from remote to local
because I had to make changes on the remote site. When I try to publish, the
error message :The URL _vti_bin' is invalid. It may refer to a nonexistent
file or folder, or refer to a valid file or folder that not in the current
web." comes up and ends the session. I am brand new to publishing and don't
know what this means or how to fix it. Thanks.

Do you have a web site set up on your local machine, with IIS and server
extensions installed?

Tom,
I originally designed the website in FrontPage 2003 on my local machine. I
then uploaded to the remote server and had to make a few changes there. So,
the answer is yes, I have a web site set up on my local machine, but you los
t
me re: the IIS and server extensions.

IIS is the web server, frontpage server extensions are installed to the web
server.
You must have a server based (not disk-based) web set up on your local
machine.

Do you have those installed and functioning?

Tom, The local web site is stored on my computer hard drive. The remote web
site is on a remote server that does have frontpage server extensions
installed. Does that answer the question you are asking? Thanks for your
help. Paige
